Langkawi cops looking for drunk tourist filmed committing indecent act

LANGKAWI: Police are tracking down a domestic tourist who was caught on camera committing an indecent act while apparently drunk after images and video clips of the incident went viral on social media.

Langkawi OCPD Asst Comm Shariman Ashari said the video shows the man on the roof of a moving multi-purpose vehicle drinking alcoholic beverages.

"A police report has been lodged and an investigation will be conducted under Section 21 of the Minor Offences Act 1955 (revised 1987) for intoxication and committing indecent acts in public," he said in a statement on Thursday (July 21).

ACP Shariman said initial investigations found that the man and his friends were local tourists and had left the island.

Several photos and videos of the man's "antics" on the roof of the MPV went viral with many slamming the acts of the man and his friends as irresponsible.
